Position Overview

Alberts is in search of a dynamic Lead Automation Engineer to join our vibrant team. As the driving force behind our revolutionary vending robot, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring its optimal performance and continual enhancement. You'll collaborate across disciplines, champion innovation, and contribute to redefining convenience and quality in the food service industry through automation and robotics.


Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Take the reins in the design, development, and maintenance of automation systems, focusing on the Beckhoff PLC running TwinCAT.
  • System Optimization: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the efficiency, reliability, and overall performance of our cutting-edge vending robot.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to seamlessly integrate automation solutions.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the automation capabilities of our products.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to automation processes, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and team readiness.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading automation engineering teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in Beckhoff PLC programming and configuration, particularly with TwinCAT.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, motion control, and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with robotics and mechatronics is a plus.
  • Experience in IT and generic programming is a strong plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Experience in the food industry or with vending machines is advantageous.
